Rain beat against the leaves of the trees and the shrubbery of the large forest like area that was just outside the Demon countries boundaries. Flashes of lightning, roars of thunder, and whistling wind were the only sounds that permeated the air of the area giving it an ominous like feel to those susceptible to it. The faint chirp of birds and rustling of scurrying animals met deaf ears at the moment showing that they were the only living things that actually inhabited the area at the moment.
As the chilling droplets of water increased in speed and number across the forest, the sound of wings beating in the air began to become more pronounced and obviously not made by anything remotely small. Seconds later, the sound stopped in the midst of the forest making everything go still and quiet. Even the rustling of the little animals had died, leaving only the sounds of the storm in its wake and even it sounded as if it had been muted.
A crunch of leaves, and a snap of a twig killed the quiet mood that had settled as a figure moved forward and out of the trees closer to the rock cliff outside of the area. Standing on the cliff's edge, the woman, who was obviously none other than Kage, inhaled deeply her eyes shut and then exhaled slowly a soft animalistically demonic growl coming out with her exhalation. Sighing as she touched her throat, the woman looked over the edge her thoughts over run by various things.... and the soft voice s in her head made nothing better.
'Why was I even brought back?' was her immediate and most frequent thought ever since she was brought back from her 'sleeping death'. She was thankful to her friend, Fudo, and ... well she honestly did not know what to categorize Sekiryo anymore. That very realization cast more question into the confused woman's head. 'Why did he come for me?.... Why did he forget?.... What if he lied?.... Where the hell am I supposed to go...'
She put her head in her hands gripping her silky black hair pulling it as she stood there soaked to the bone from the rain. Growling deep in her throat the woman held herself like that on the edge of the cliff her mind racing with thousands of questions that she knew would never get answered.
'I have no purpose anymore.... Why is it that I've been called back to this blood thirsty world. She asked herself mentally falling to her knees somewhat as she took her right hand away from her face after releasing her wet hair. She gazed into her palm for a moment before she flexed her fingers jumping in a startled way when she saw her arm change to a more demonic version of itself and quickly shook her head to clear her vision to see that nothing had happened. 'On top of everything, I'm seeing things and I've got weird wings that extend from my body.... what next...' She thought lifelessly as she sat akimbo style on the cliff edge.
Concentrating on nothing but darkness, the woman seemed to relax as black orbs began to form out of no where and began to dance and swirl around her prone form. The orbs swayed in the air as she stayed still moving closer to her body and then scurrying back in different little patterns. As they danced, white orbs of light slowly formed as well shimmering around the woman as she sat there in the rain drying her clothes somewhat with the white hot heat that they generated by themselves. These orbs moved in sync with their counterparts coming in close to her when the black ones were extended farther out and going farther away when the darkness came closer.
As time passed and the orbs continued their rhythmic movements, a new group of orbs formed from her very skin. They were a mixture of the two orbs that were already there, making them obviously twilight orbs. These orbs stayed on her skin or just above it caressing her and coddling her in some way as to console her in a way that someone close to her used to do when she allowed herself to show her weakness and pain.
To on lookers the orbs began to look like blurs if your eyes were not attuned to seeing such a thing but to those who are used to it nothing really seemed out of the ordinary. That was, until the woman's whole body began to shift and flash out of focus. One second her body was as it was not - as a normal human being- the next it seemed to flash to that of a demon's -black and red mostly and ragged wings - and then to something that was even odder. In a third flash she seemed to pulse into a silver haired version of herself with one white wing and one black wing. Flashing out of that one to her normal self again, the woman did not move as if she did not know what was going on with herself at the moment. The more the balls moved in unison around her the more she seemed to pulse and 'flash' into each of the different persona's that seemed to come up from no where with her.
It wasn't until she opened her eyes fully did she finally stop with the shifting. Looking at the orbs that surrounded her somewhat with her half lidded eyes made her smile slightly for the first time in ages. She contentedly watched as the orbs moved and entertained her for a while before she sighed calling them all back to her watching as each one dissolved into her body at some random part of her each one filling her with a sense of warmth and belonging. '.... Maybe its time I make my own destiny and not worry about what fate has in store? Perhaps this is my second chance at becoming what I was destined to be... in my own way?' She questioned herself before shaking her head somewhat closing her eyes and reopening them so they are in their red like state but not with her Sharingan or anything else activated at the moment. ".... I need... to relearn my kekkei genkai's again.... " She said a loud as if she were creating a list from the air. ".... which means I have to find Sekiryo once more...." She said softer than earlier. ".... I'll also have to figure out what all Orochimaru did to my body and what these new... features I've gained have done to me." She muttered once again to herself.
Sighing, the woman turned her eyes back to the rain filled sky and hugged herself. She thought of her past and what she was able to do and shivered at some of the unsavory memories. "...."
