Who else believes that the Gedo Mazo is really the Jūbi, without the tails? The fact that it can absorb Bijū and gets stronger from their power kinda tipped me off. Then it's also related to the Rin'negan, able to be controlled by it like the Sage. And the silhouette of the Jūbi matches the Gedo Mazo perfectly. I mean those spikes on the Jūbi's back, and those freakishly long arms and legs... www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijkawgm2_jETHis theory also has more good points.I already had my own theories and thoughts that the Gedo Mazo was actually the Jūbi. I never believed it was the moon. Madara would need to destroy the moon to get the Jūbi then, but he then wouldn't be able to use Mugen Tsukuyomi, which he needs to use on the moon. More than likely, Chibaku Tensei was used to create the moon, and trap the Jūbi inside, and that's where the Jūbi is summoned from. Perhaps the statue itself isn't the Jūbi, but it has a connection. Or perhaps the Jūbi being sealed in the moon was a lie, and it was the statue all along. I do know that both Gedo Mazo and Jūbi have the same arms, legs, and horns on their backs. The creature's one Sharin'negan eye also had 9 tomoe in it, which is the same number of beasts that its chakra was divided into. Each time Gedo Mazo absorbs a Bijū, one of its permanently closed eyes open up. Wonder what happens when they all open up. Do we see the Sharin'negan again?

I had the same suspicions and I think you may be right about that just saying I mean it does all make sense tha the statue is possibly the juubi which could also be why every time its shown its eyes on its face are blindfolded
