This isn't a clan or anything, but it's something that's been around for a bit. Until over 5 years ago, before I created the concept of an "Incarnation of Darkness" and "Incarnation of Light", the elements and ideas weren't really expanded upon. There was also nothing like it when I first created the existence of a "Creator of Darkness" and "Creator of Light" for Naruto RP all those years ago. They were original concepts I brought to the table. Along with it, I made sure to create detailed explanations to how darkness and light works, adding a quantum-physical science to it that made it realistic and logical, and then darkness and light quickly expanded among the RP community. Before that, it was rare, and light was never used. It was simply just shadows and such, basing off of the Nara clan's ability.
I also went into detail explaining the order of such existences, and the process to how it works... which I don't have the time to bring up right now. It is my original idea, however, just like the Minakengan, but the Minakengan isn't a one-of-a-kind thing, like Incarnation of Darkness, Incarnation of Light, Creator of Darkness, and Creator of Light is. It's not something that can be used by others so commonly. Not to mention that no one else really understands how they, and the process involved works, since I'm the one who came up with the idea and created it. I don't particularly want anyone commonly using this idea over my head and without a word. A lot of time (years) and work and thought and careful explanations and science was put into this.
The characters I first created to be the Creator of Darkness and Creator of Light, which I only use as plot devices, are the originals, being the first of this idea that I came up with. There has been one successor so far, though they were still the only ones who actually created the darkness and light. All others after them just inherit the power and authority, since the darkness and light now already exists, and cannot be created a second time.
There is a process to being able to obtain an Incarnation status, which is the successor to the Creator status, since a successor must be named. Having any more or less then 1 Creator of Darkness and 1 Creator of Light existing at the same time would upset the balance put in motions, causing a universal black hole to grow from its center and eventual swallow it up. This is why order and regulation must be maintained.
I'd go into detail and the history with this specific "clan" if you could call it but, I have to leave for now. Trust me, I can and will go into great detail with this vastly expanded idea/creation later lol.

To get the ball rolling, I'll start with telling you my inspiration for the entire concept. Mainly it was because of Kingdom Hearts. Darkness and Light weren't just powers, they were ideals, they were beliefs, they were inner demons and guiding voices. Kingdom Hearts really went deep.
Riku was especially my inspiration, especially for Twilight. He showed that being darkness doesn't make you necessarily bad, and that the light and darkness can mingle together. He took neither road individually. He took the middle road to Twilight/Dawn ("Tasogare", the name of Sekiryō's village and organization, translates to "Twilight/Dawn" as well. "Aktatsuki" means "Dusk", also making it a symbolic opposition).
Another inspiration was my belief in God. Not the magical God, but God in a scientific sense, who possesses infinite knowledge and technology. It is said technology and knowledge has no limit, as we will always continues to advance. One with infinite knowledge and technology could then accomplish anything, even create a large universal ecosystem with living organisms like us inside. I take a very scientific approach with this Darkness and Light element. There's no magic. Only science, and logic.
Darkness and Light are not just a source of energy and power. They are elements with their own unique properties. I will explain the story behind the original Creator of Darkness and Creator of Light, and explain the two elements specifically. This will also tie into and explain my character's story as well.
Story time...
Akumu and Harahkti themselves had no beginning of their own, like all life today does. They have just always existed for eternity, before anything else existed. This was before the existence of time as well, since time itself is its own dimension, an actual form of energy that at one point did not exist (this is true for reality as well). This makes the concept of an infinite existence possible, as time would not have existed then.
This is also taken from the belief in God, though you don't necessarily have to believe in God to believe in the possibility of infinite existence. In fact, our entire universe would not exist if not for that. Say that you either believe that the universe was created by a being of infinite intelligence (God) of by the expansion of a singularity in the vast nothingness (The Big Bang Theory). That's fine and all, but what do you do when someone asks you "Well, what/who created him/it then?".
You can answer that question as many times as you want, but the person asking can just keep on asking "well then what/who created him/it then?" infinitely. The thing is, this wouldn't be able to go on indefinitely. A house without a solid foundation cannot stand. At SOME point in the beginning of history, SOMETHING had to have always existed, with no beginning of its own, to start all of this, otherwise the chain of "this created this and was created by that" and etc. would never end, and there would be no solid foundation for us to have built off of.
It's like a link of chains. You can add as many links to the chain as you want, indefinitely, but it will fall if there is no solid anchor to hold it all up. Whether that anchor is God, or if it was a singularity, either way, it/He always existed for eternity. It's hard to wrap our minds around, but it's the only way any of this would be possible.
In this case, Akumu and Harahkti are those beings. They just always existed. At some point, the two decided to use their combined power to create the universe, time, space, and the possibility of life as we know it. Akumu provided the space and gravity needed to hold everything together, and Harahkti provided the energy and motion.
Harahkti believed that he and Akumu both created this existence for them to govern and protect, but Akumu wished for something to conquer and rule over. She knew that she herself could not overthrow Harahkti. They were both equal and opposite in power, so no matter what, it would always be a stalemate. That's when she got the idea for Sekiryō, her son. She used the Rikudō Sennin's Elder Son to bear a child. She instilled this child with the embodiment of Darkness, making him the Darkness itself, in hopes of using him to tip the scale of power and turn the tides in her favor. Being born from the Elder Son, before he split the power of his eyes into the Byakugan and the Sharingan, Sekiryō inherited the Kekkei Genkai of the combined eyes, which he called the Minakengan.
To ensure that her son would help her, she hatched a plan. Though centuries old, Akumu wiped her own son's memories of his past, and altered his appearance and demeanor to be that of a baby's. Since he had the combined bloodline of a Hyūga and an Uchiha, they would just believe he was born from one member of each clan. This would work perfect for her, so she set it up to appear as if this had been the case, and that he had been born 3 years before Naruto or Sasuke.
The life that Sekiryō lived was hell. His life was cursed by some around him who knew the truth, but couldn't speak of it (for fear Akumu would make good on her threats to them) and the others who didn't know thought that the union of a Hyūga and an Uchiha was an abomination. The supposed father was killed, and Sekiryō was branded with a special Hyūga Hakke seal that would prevent him from using his chakra. Much like Naruto, he lived a scorned childhood. The only one who showed him love was his fake mother, until the night of the massacre of the Uchiha clan, where he would later find her decapitated corpse in her bed.
He grew up to believe he was a monster, hated and alone. As Akumu had hoped, Sekiryō grew to hate the world, at least the one she had created for him, and wished to do everything in his power to destroy it. He broke the Hakke seal, and soon discovered his latent dark powers, which lead to the discovery that he was in fact the darkness itself. He formed Tasogare, an organization dedicated to world domination, using the Bijū as well. Everything that was happening was going all according to Akumu's grand scheme. There was just one thing she didn't count on.
Harahkti saw through everything. While Sekiryō was in the womb, he used his power as well to make Sekiryō the embodiment of Light as well. It was a gamble though, as it was unsure of how Light and Darkness would react to each other in one vessel. In Sekiryō's case, it turned out quite well. It changed him when he discovered it. He found a peace inside, and opened his eyes to see that he had more important reasons to live, people to care for and protect. He grew to want to protect those bonds, as his had been severed. The purpose behind his organization of Tasogare had then changed to opposing Akatsuki, and protecting the world and seeking peace.
Akumu was pissed. In the end, Sekiryō had used the combined power of Darkness and Light to become the embodiment of Twilight, something that had been completely new. Harahtki's influence on Akumu's son ultimately became her undoing, when Sekiryō used that combined power to destroy her. In her demise, Sekiryō (as the Embodiment of Darkness) became the new Creator of Darkness, to maintain balance. Harahtki, in light of this, saw fit to allow himself to enter eternal slumber as well, making Sekiryō Creator of Light as well, before he left this plane of existence for better places. Sekiryō was not the original Creator of Light or Creator of Darkness, but he became the original of both in one, the Creator of Twilight. Since this point, Kage has been made the Embodiment of Darkness, while the Embodiment of Light has not been decided yet.
The reason for a successor is to maintain balance. Being made from Darkness and Light, the universe must have an equal balance between the two. If the Creator of Darkness were to somehow die, and no one took his or her place, then the balance would be thrown off, and the universe would fall apart with half of the power holding it together missing.
If 2 Creators of Darkness and 2 Creators of Light were to somehow exist at the same time (like if the originals have been resurrected by Edo Tensei), even though the balance of power would be even, the magnitude of the power would be too great for the universe to contain, because the universe was created by the power of 1 Creator of Darkness and 1 Creator of Light, not 2. It wouldn't be able to hold it, resulting in it imploding on itself, which is currently happening now as Akumu and Harahkti HAVE been revived, resulting in a large black hole appearing in the center of the universe, visible even from earth, as a "black sun" in the sky with a pull that can be felt even from there.
Harahtki and Akumu created the Darkness and the Light by using themselves. Darkness is an extension of Akumu's existence, while Light is Harahkti's. It is them, for lack of better words. Other Dark and Light users can manipulate it to a degree, and form dark or light element chakra, which is not true Darkness or Light, but they cannot create it. Harahtki and Akumu can, as can their successors. Darkness and Light bends to their wills. Being an extension of them, it is a living entity that obeys their authority, so no other dark or light users can manipulate their Darkness or Light. It will not obey a lesser authority.
This does not mean that the Creator of Darkness and Creator of Light don't tire. No one is without stamina limits, but in terms of power and authority with Darkness and Light, Akumu and Harahtki are at a level of Mugen (Infinity), as are the Embodiment of Darkness and Embodiment of Light and the successors of them all.
Also, they differ from the true God. They can be destroyed, for one thing. And their omnipresence is not truly omnipresent. While they can be everywhere at the same time, since Darkness and Light exists pretty much everywhere, they are limited to a single point in time. As made apparent, God is not limited to one point in time. He exists everywhere not just at the same time, but outside of time. He's been known to show individuals the past (Job, I think) and the future as well. This is something that's not possessed by Creator of Darkness and Creator of Light. There is a limit to how powerful someone can be here. I choose not to give them a power they should have, since they did exist outside of time, because it would be way too OP.
Also, while the manipulation of Dark and Light elemental chakra is possible by nearly all, just like other elemental chakra, the actual manipulation/control of Dark Matter and Light Particles itself belongs to the Creator/Embodiment of Darkness/Light (and some other individuals to a lesser degree). There is a difference between the actual element and the chakra manipulation of said element. This was established during Sasuke's final fight with Itachi. When Sasuke used Kirin, he was using the lightning itself, and it was described as being on a whole other level. Similarly, Madara recently pulled down two HUGE meteors from the upper atmosphere. This could be considered an earth element, only on a whole other level.
And now for the quantum-physical explanations.
Science behind the Darkness and Light creating the universe.
Darkness and Light are actually considered "Cosmic elements", because they exist everywhere in the universe, even in space, while all the other elements do not. Wind and Water are probably the most scarce, and may only exist on one planet. Water at least. The forces of Darkness and Light are deeply tied to the workings of space and the universe.
Darkness is often described as vast, empty, cold, spacious, void. It's just like space. Space is actually comprised of dark matter, which is something we have yet to fully understand. Dark Matter is the element of Darkness in this series, just as Electricity is the Lightning element, and etc.. If space were truly empty and devoid of anything in between the stars and planets and other various bodies, then why is it black? It should be clear, but what does clear look like?
The answer is dark matter. It's black. Darkness provided the space for which to contain the universe.
Next is the matter of gravity. Gravity is the string that holds the fabric of space together. Without it, we'd fall apart. The element of Darkness in this series has a high gravitational pull. This was brought on by the fact that black holes have THE STRONGEST known gravitational pull in the universe. Not even light can escape it.
That's why you can't actually see a black hole. Once light reaches the event horizon of the black hole, which is the "point of no return", light cannot escape it. Since no light is escaping, no light is reaching your eyes, and since no light is reaching your eyes, there is no image for your eyes to process. All we can see that shows that a black hole is there is the swirling distortion of light around it, before it reaches that event horizon.
Then you have Light. Light is full of kinetic energy, the energy of motion. Our universe is constantly in motion. It goes through a cycle. It has to in order for it to survive, in order for life to be possible. As in reality, the Light element is comprised of Light Particles. These Light Particles give life and energy to a vast multitude of both animate and inanimate organisms.
Science behind Light and Darkness abilities and Space-Time
Both Light and Darkness have the ability to distort time and space, which is more easily called "space-time". In fact, all things distort the time and space around it to a degree. While each element can manipulate both, Darkness has more of an effect on Time, while Light has more of an effect on Space.
Let's first look at time. Time is relative. We perceive time differently. Remember, that time is actually a form of energy that can be manipulated. When you travel at the speed of light, time actually slows down for you. A movie was made off of this, where a man travels at light speed for a month, and comes back to find he's been gone 50 years, while he only aged a month.
In fact, this can be tested at home too. If you and a friend were to both have the same type of stopwatch, and if you were both at a race track, and if you were to both start the watches at the same time, with your friend running around the track while you stay still, and if you both were to stop the watches at the same time, your friend will have recorded a shorter time than you, because time will have slowed down slightly due to his motion.
Darkness has a GREAT effect on time for this reason. When you enter a black hole, the speed is so great that time literally comes to a standstill for everything entering it, or at least damn near close to it. To an outside observer, even though they can't see it, the object would be torn up and sucked in in less than a second, but to someone who is INSIDE the black hole, being sucked in, an eternity could pass them by. To them, the outside world would appear to be moving in fast-forward. This is what Einstein meant when he said time is relative.
Light on the other hand, has an effect more so on space. Light, in contrast to Darkness, is hot. Heat, as you've probably seen before, is capable of causing waves in the air and even causing mirages. And with a high repulsion field in contrast to Darkness' gravitational field, space within that field is distorted and warped.
Wormholes actually cut rifts in space, creating shortcuts from one point in space to another. These wormholes are full of lights too, lights also bent from the distortion.
Speed
Light and Darkness are also fast. Light moves at, well the speed of light, which is 186,000 miles in a single second. Darkness, on the other hand, is even faster. As soon as light disappears, it's there. Its speed is instantaneous. Black holes suck objects in so fast that even the light cannot escape it. Its speed not only slows down time like the speed of light does, but it brings the flow of time to damn near a complete stop.
This also explains why Akumu and Harahkti have their infinite existence, and never age. The same for Sekiryō. Since Darkness and Light are part of his being, time has been prevented from affecting him as well.
Influence
Light has an explosive force while Darkness has an implosive. This comes from Light's high kinetic energy. Also, the faster an object moves, the more destructive power it has. This combined with its high kinetic energy makes it very explosive.
Darkness is implosive, due to its high gravity. The gravity is compressed inward until space collapses in on itself, creating a black hole. This is pretty much how stars die and become black holes. They collapse in on their own weight.
Because Darkness exerts a negative force, it is able to make objects lighter. A creative way to utilize this is to use it to lift a heavy object, either for chucking at an opponent, or for moving them greater distances. While Light exercises a high repulsive force, increasing the gravity to do the opposite. The two can be used together for combination techniques, lightening something heavy, throwing it over an opponent, then increasing the weight to crush them.
Also, since Light consists of physical particles, they can be condensed. Through magnetic bonding, they can be compressed and condensed enough to form near impenetrable walls and shields to protect from attacks. Darkness on the other hand works in an opposite way. The power over Dark Matter is able to lighten the structure of an object, causing the molecules to vibrate at a different frequency, removing the object from this dimension, allowing objects and attacks to pass through them. This is the basis for the String Theory, that all dimensions exist on one plane, but vibrate at different frequencies, and that changing the vibration of something will allow it to pass into another dimension.
As the Creator of Darkness and Creator of Light, the Darkness is an extension of Akumu while the Light is an extension of Harahtki. The two don't actually have a "true" physical form. The forms they take are just avatars. Their existence lies in all of the darkness and light that exists. They have no true forms. This allows them to assume any shape they wish (Akumu was in the form of Madara when she fought Sekiryō and ultimately was destroyed).
Sekiryō is a bit different. He was born with a physical form. Think of it like Bijū and Jinchūriki. Akumu and Harahkti are like the Bijū, who have the form of Darkness and Light itself, as the Bijū have their own forms. Sekiryō is like a Jinchūriki host. He has his own form, but can assume the form of Darkness or Light, just as a Jinchūriki can assume the form of the Bijū inside.
Because of this, Akumu and Harahkti cannot actually be physically hurt, as they have no physical body. Sekiryō can, but to hurt him is still extremely difficult.
Also, Darkness and Light aren't intrinsically weak against each other. Light chases away the Darkness, like a flashlight in the dark, but Darkness also swallows up the Light, like a black hole. The determining factor is the user's strength with the element. In the Creator of Darkness and Creator of Light's case, they have no peer. Light cannot harm the Creator of Light, as it is a part of them, and obeys their will, completely loyal to them, and the same with the Darkness and Creator of Darkness. Light of a lesser level than the Darkness it is up against is also bound to be swallowed up, just as Darkness of a lesser level than the Light it is up against will be dissolved.
Then there is also the summoning of dark creatures, dark clouds, dark amorphous shapes, the use of light beams, bright light for blinding, and etc.. Those are a bit less scientific, aside from the light beams, which are just highly condensed and thin rays of light, used for damaging rather than defending, and are there for interest and fun.
Twilight
This is a pretty new and sparsely touched-on element even years after I introduced it. It is the combination of Darkness and Light, or the absence of both. In the same sense, either one travels down the middle road between the two individual elements.
Twilight includes the creation of stars, which can be explained. Cold fusion is the use of intense gravity, energy, and a magnetic field to generate a reaction that creates a star. This was introduced by Doctor Octavius in Spiderman 2 as well. We have never successfully created a star yet, but that is the process. As Harahkti and Akumu together were able to create cold fusion and form the stars, Twilight is able to do the same.
Then there is antimatter. Just an atom of antimatter has enough energy to fuel over 20 rocket ships. This is a product of Twilight, combining the high density of Dark Matter with the high kinetic energy of Light Particles.
When Sekiryō enters his "Twilight mode", his hair turns white, and he has to wear a special blindfold, because his eyes act as gamma rays, which are extremely harmful.
I can't think of anything else to add for now. I had a lot dancing in my head earlier in the night. But this is my idea/concept/creation and the detailed explanations behind them. The concept is my own original which can't simply be taken and used on a whim, especially when others don't really know how it works like I do, me being the originator and creator of the idea and all. It sort of butchers my idea and destroys all the sense in it lol.
