Zihark (ツイハーク, Tsuihāku) was born in Sunagakure, and remained a citizen his entire life. He participated in the great shinobi war 4 years ago, and then soon after left to travel the lands as a mercenary for the less fortunate. He has recently returned to his homeland for unknown reasons, though most likely homesickness.

Personality and History:

Zihark is a brave and kind man, speaking politely to others when they come to speak to him. However, he becomes quite flustered when something uncomfortable is brought up. He is also friendly with nearly anyone he meets. He's also known to flirt a lot too, either that or he's just engaging in playful banter, which also confuses others, not understanding what he says. He's also very true to his comrades.

Not much is known of Zihark's past, other than that he was born in Sunagakure. The identity of his parents are a mystery to everyone else, as is his father's identity a mystery to him. Some have speculated on this, however, based on his appearance and abilities.

Unknown by most people in the world is that Zihark used to be the Jinchūriki host to the Ichibi no Shukaku (One-Tailed Shukaku). Because of this, Zihark was often treated as an outcast by his own society by the ones who knew at the time. Some time in the past he had the beast removed from him (most likely to end his persecution). It is unknown how he managed to survive, but one could guess that his advanced chakra nature and its durability was what helped. Because of this, he has been able to use his Diamond Release to make diamond dust, which functions exactly in the same way as Gaara's sand. It now acts as a constant reminder to Zihark of the monster he used to be, and how he sometimes still thinks of himself.

Having traveled around the globe for years as a mercenary, Zihark has had many experiences that have made him wise and understanding towards others and how the world at large works. In a way of escaping the feeling of still being a monster like the Shukaku he used to contain, he's spent years of his life walking in other people's shoes for them. His in-depth knowledge and wisdom leave him yearning for the world to approach a stage where everyone is able to come to the same level of understanding towards others.

Abilities:

Zihark is a very accomplished swordsman. His skills are so great that he quickly became a member of the 7 Swordsmen of the Sand. His sword is a very special sword, made of chakra-infused diamond which he is able to manipulate with his Ryōton (Diamond Release) Kekkei Tōta. His speed with a sword is twice that of any swordsman of the same caliber.

Since Zihark possesses a Kekkei Tōta, he has an affinity for 3 different chakra natures: Water, Fire, and Earth. He is able to use these elements perfectly, and combine them to form Diamond. Little is known of what Diamond element chakra's properties are, but one of them is that the chakra is extremely tough and durable; the most impenetrable of all the nature manipulations, even able to resist being melted by Lava Release. It is also very sharp, able to cut through even the compacted Iron Sand from the 3rd Kazekage.

Because he memorized the influence that Shukaku had over his control of sand in his past, Zihark is also able to use this chakra to manipulate and control diamond minerals in the same way he and Gaara could control sand. He's able to make this substance seemingly fall from his diamond-colored hair, which he actually forms from his chakra. He's also capable of pulling diamond minerals from the earth, or compress minerals into more. The diamond "sand" is extremely tough, even tougher than Gaara's sand, which Gaara was able to compress to be more tough than diamond, being chakra-enhanced sand. Since Zihark possesses chakra-enhanced diamond, this is even tougher than that.

Aside from using the diamond like sand, Zihark is able to shape it into practically any shape he wishes, such as spikes for piercing or for making platforms to jump and land on, or manipulating them into weapons, such as the sword he carries with him. Because of this, his sword never wears out, and has never once broken or needed sharpening. The sword is also able to be extended or made to protrude more diamond spikes from the sides (made useful after stabbing an opponent, to pierce them even further and assure death). He can also use the diamond to encase opponents and other objects, completely immobilizing them so they cannot form hand seals. These formations are able to be formed anywhere as long as there is ground for them to emerge from, making it perfect for attacking from behind while Zihark is engaging an opponent upfront.

More is to be discovered of this mysterious elemental nature.

Zihark's affinity for Earth and minerals is so great, he is able to detect even the faintest of presences that touch the ground, as their chakra can be detected by the chakra he infuses in the ground, even if the opponent has hidden their chakra completely, as the movement and the pulse in their feet causes vibrations that can also be detected.

Zihark's chakra is also unique in that he is able to use his chakra to convert it directly into living tissue, blood, or other various materials that his body may need. Should he sustain any injury, he is able to burn up chakra in proportion to the severity of the injury in order to heal it completely. This is not like a true medical Ninjutsu, and costs a considerably larger amount of chakra to perform.

Zihark also seems to have a powerful affinity for Genjutsu. Not in using it, exactly, but rather for breaking it. Due to his past experiences with Uchiha as a mercenary, Zihark trained himself to be able to break out of extremely tough Genjutsu, using his unique chakra's strength to help aid his dispelling.
