Suirō no Jutsu 水牢の術 Water Prison Technique
Rank: C Class: Supplementary Range: Short (0-1 meter)
This technique is used to trap a victim inside a virtually inescapable sphere of water. The only downside to this technique is that the user must keep at least one arm inside the sphere at all times in order for the victim to remain imprisoned. This technique requires a sufficient amount of water, which can be provided by expelling it from one's mouth. Despite the fact that the prison is made up entirely out of water, it is stronger than steel (as stated by Zabuza Momochi). Once trapped, the target is unable to move while within it due to the heaviness of the water. Because of the density of the water it can be used, to a limited extent, for defensive purposes if performed on oneself.
Water clones can be used in preparation for the technique, which block an opponent's attack and trap the attacker in the prison using the clone's own water. Some, like a Hyūga can use the ability to release chakra from all of his tenketsu simultaneously to disrupt the flow of chakra and break the prison. It can also be stored in scrolls as traps. This technique is ranked so high due to the need for the user to be able to make the whirlpool reach the bottom of any body of water they are standing on, or at least deep enough to have the desired effect.

Suiton: Naruto Rengoku * 水遁・鳴戸煉獄 Water Release: Maelstrom Purgatory
Rank: A Class: Offensive Range: Mid-Long (10-20 meters)
Water Release: Maelstrom Purgatory is a technique which creates an enormous and deep whirlpool under the opponent(s) that swiftly drags them down into the bottom of said body of water, before vanishing to drown them, if they're not crushed by the water's extreme weight first. The maelstrom appears in less than 3 seconds, and is especially hard to escape due to the powerful pull of the rushing water spinning the victim around it at suffocating speeds in the same manner water swirls down a drain.
The downside to this technique is its need for prep. It can only be used if there is a sufficient water source present. A user fighting on the surface of the ocean can use this technique to its maximum potential, as this technique becomes more potent the deeper the water they are using it in is, and likewise becomes less deadly the shallower the water is.
The whirlpool may be made large enough to pull down even a boss summon the size of Gamabunta, and bigger, and is powerful enough that not even such a summon can escape without de-summoning itself. This is because the only substance the victim could use to escape is the water around them, which is constantly shifting and pulling towards the center, making it impossible to swim against or stand on. Trying to escape it is essentially the same as trying to climb out of a 90 degree angled pit of soft shifting sand.

Chidori 千鳥 One Thousand Birds
Rank: A Class: Offensive Range: Short (0 meters)
This technique channels a large amount of lightning chakra to the user's hand. The amount of chakra is so great that it becomes visible. The high concentration of electricity produces a sound reminiscent of many birds chirping, hence the name. Once the technique is completed, the user charges forward and thrusts the Chidori into the target. This produces heavy amounts of damage that is usually fatal. This technique is classified as an assassination technique because of the speed at which it is performed, despite the loud noise it produces.
As shown against Killer B, Chidori can also be used to simply give the opponent a large electrical shock without impaling them.
This technique has a major drawback, however. The speed at which the attack must be done, combined with the fact that the user must run in a straight line, causes a tunnel vision-like effect for the user. This allows the enemy to easily counter the attack, making it a potentially lethal move for the user. Though this drawback would seem to make learning the technique fairly pointless, users can avoid the drawback because with the Sharingan, which takes in every detail, regardless of how fast the user is moving.
As an additional drawback, the large amount of chakra required limits the number of times this technique can be performed per day. Should the user attempt to go beyond their limit, all of their chakra will be drained and their very life force could go along with it. High stamina users do not suffer so much from this.
An additional problem, though not necessarily a debilitating one, is the fact that the large amount of chakra can also injure the user's hand if they put too much force into the attack, like causing some of the skin to peel from the hand and leaving it slightly smouldering after the attack is finished.

Chidori Nagashi 千鳥流し One Thousand Birds Current
Rank: A Class: Offensive/Defensive Range: Short (2 meters)
This is a Ninjutsu first developed by Sasuke Uchiha during his training with Orochimaru. By releasing the Chidori in every direction, an electrical discharge flows from the user's entire body allowing him/her to affect multiple enemies. When using this attack on a great number of enemies at once, it can effectively double as an instant defense. The body of the person touched by the Chidori will misinterpret the Lightning nature as "electrical signals from the nerves", making its muscles contract. This causes the body to involuntarily go stiff, while at the same time receives damage. This attack can also be channeled through the ground and other objects to increase the range of the attack.

Chidori Senbon 千鳥千本 One Thousand Birds Senbon
Rank: A Class: Offensive Range: Short-Mid (0-15 meters)
This is one of many variations of the Chidori that uses shape transformation. It is specialized in more speed, by being transformed into countless sharp senbon, all aimed at the enemy. By increasing the amount of chakra used, the number of senbon also increases. It can become even more effective by using it together with the Sharingan, allowing the user to precisely shoot for the enemy's vital points.

Chidori Eisō 千鳥鋭槍 One Thousand Birds Sharp Spear
Rank: A Class: Offensive Range: Short-Mid (0-10 meters)
The original Chidori gained its power by shaping it into a form sufficient for an electrical discharge and using it together with the user's own "thrust". This technique uses Shape Transformation to form the original Chidori into a spear or blade-shape, adapting it for mid-range attacks with a maximum range of about five meters, though some have managed to extend this range. Although it's less powerful than the Chidori, its increased range means there is less of a risk to the user. It also has the advantage of being able to be used for surprise attacks and capturing.
When the enemy's body is pierced, the user can alter the spear's shape into multiple additional blades, increasing the number of wounds. The blade can also be swung in order to cut things as well as cause fatal injuries.

Chidori Kaki * 千鳥垣 One Thousand Birds Fence
Rank: A Class: Offensive/Supplementary Range: Short-Mid (0-10 meters)
This technique utilizes the Chidori Current to channel lightning element chakra through steel ninja wires wrapped around the opponent(s) to both trap and paralyze them. The wires are usually hidden on shuriken to confuse and trap the opponent more easily. The voltage can be controlled to be made numbing, to lethal. Since the lightning penetrates the body, outward resistance, such as that created by Sage Mode, is mostly ineffective in lessening the effects of the attack.
