Konoha hospital ward.

[Shinku no Yami]

*In the quiet facility of the Konoha hospital, where nurses check clipboards and tend to patients, a loud bang can be heard coming from one of the unoccupied rooms a few doors down the hall.*

Medic: *She whips her head in the direction of the sound, looking away from her computer screen.* "What the hell was that?"

Medic 2: "I'll go check on it!" *He vanishes in a puff of smoke, reappearing next to the fame of the doorway, outside of the room. Carefully, he and a backup nurse peer into the room and see... nothing out of place. The chairs are in-tact, the window open just a crack with no damage, the bed right where it always has been with a patient sleeping peacefully in the... wait a minute.*

Nurse: "Doctor, was this room occupied before?" *The young medic looks up at her superior, who has a confused expression on his face.*

Medic: *He shakes his head.* "No... No. There was no one in this room before, nor checked in. Wait here." *He holds a hand out to stop her from approaching the grey haired boy in the hospital bed, in order to check if it's safe for himself. Upon approaching the bed, he discovers a note on the boy's chest. Quickly snatching it up and opening it, he finds the contents to read:*

I am an ambassador from the Village Hidden in the Clouds. My name is Kai, and I'm here to bolster your security. I'm in need of your medical attention first, in order to do this.

P.S.: Before you ask; no, of course I did not write this. I'm currently on the edge of entering a coma. Treat me quickly.

*The medic motions the young nurse over and hands here the letter before sighing to himself and looking back down at the boy.* "Well, this is going to be an interesting day..."



~~~Days later~~~

Kai: *A light breeze from the open window rolls in, blowing his bangs against his face slightly while he continues to sleep in his hospital bed. He faintly appears plagued by some kind of bad dream, as images of what had just happened to him, and deeper secrets race through his mind.*

[Uzumaki Naruto]

Naruto walks into the hospital looks around for Kai finds kais room and asks the doctor if he's ok*

[Shinku no Yami]

Doctor: *He looks at his clipboard for the name "Kai" and makes an "AHA!" gesture upon finding it.* "Ah yes, Kai is here and physically he is stable. For now though, we've been withholding visitors due to his previous fragile condition, and the fact that his appearance is still a mystery here. Not that he's had any visitors anyway. We just found him in his bed with a note attached.He was never officially checked in, but seeing his condition, we couldn't just sit by and do nothing. We know only what the note has told us about him."

Kai: *Back in his bed, his head moves side to side slightly with new-found images from before. The attack in the village that seemed pre-planned, the attempt on his life from two ninja he knew very well growing up, his meeting with the Kazekage, and that red-haired girl who had annoyed him, yet notable was the only one to push against his own stubborn attitude, which is a direct contrast to Zihark, who seemed gentler. All of these unconscious thoughts fly through his mind in one jumbled tornado as he rests.*

[Uzumaki Naruto]

Naruto- * he nods and looks around * this place haven't changed much. I was in here countless times * he talking to himself as he walks out and sits on a bench. *

[Shinku no Yami]

Kai: *In his mind, the images of past comrades flash before him, including the two he recognized so well. His eyes scrunch up slightly.*

'Those people... they cared nothing for me.'

*Images of bright glowing yellow eyes once again surface into his mind, followed by a roar in his head.*

'They were only after it.'

*His eye opens ever so slightly, allowing him to peek through the slits of his opened lids at the various doctors outside of his room.*

'If they found out about it too, it would be the same. This will not be my destiny!'

*His features seem to change, as if he were suddenly possessed by something. Rolling over on his side, facing the window, he closes both of his eyes before snapping them both open, which glow with an intense orange-red light.*

As the doctors go about their daily routine of checkups and paper work, an explosion is both heard and felt from everyone in the hospital, causing some to fall over in shock. A huge amount of dust and smoke can be seen coming from Kai's room, blocking off all view of it.

Doctor: "On your guard! Save the patient!" *A dozen trained medics would rush into the room after clearing the smoke out, only to find an empty bed and a large hole blown clean into the side wall of the room. Kai is nowhere to be found, and one of the doctors would notice that throughout the explosion, the bed remained completely in-tact, and the sheets were made too, tidied up to look like the bed had been unoccupied. The medic then looks out the large hole with a thoughtful expression on his face.*

Naruto- standing on the roof watching the events transpire beneath his feet * what are you doing kid..* he seems to be speaking to himself. *
